What should I wear
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable. We can discuss outfits on our consultation call but I normally advise bringing a few different options for the shoot. Feeling lost on what to bring? I am happy to arrange an image consultation beforehand for a small additional fee. This will help you feel confident and empowered on the day.
What if I’m camera shy?
It took me three years to add my own portrait to my own website. So, I get it. I’m here to support you so you can feel relaxed every step of the way. From angles to poses, I will help you look your absolute best. I offer the option of having a monitor/laptop displayed during the shoot so you can see how amazing you look in real-time.
How do I book?
Drop me an email at hello@shotbyevie.com.au with any details you want me to know. We can then arrange a consultation call where we can chat about your vision and everything involved in achieving it. I always advise getting in touch at least three weeks before your intended shoot date.
How do we plan for the shoot?
During our consultation, we will have a chat about your vision and identity. I always recommend collecting some images that inspire you beforehand. We then review your website and existing brand collateral and create a vision board to make sure everything is on-brand for the shoot day.
What about hair and make-up?
You want to look your best on the day. Whether you are doing your own hair and make-up or hiring someone, it’s important that you feel fabulous. My packages don’t include hair and make-up; but, if you would like a professional on hand for shoot day, I am more than happy to arrange this for you.
Where are you located?
I am based in Eastern Suburbs, Sydney, but travel throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Does your price include travel costs?
Yes, if the shoot location is within 10 km of Sydney CBD. Anything further afield, travel expenses may be added and will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Can you provide specific locations or props?
I want to make sure we get your image spot on. If you know your vision and are looking for particular props, backdrops or locations, I can make this happen. I have a knack for location scouting and prop hunting. If you would like a specific colour background we can also do that in the editing process.
What happens on shoot day?
- Please make sure to arrive on time so we can spend as long as possible checking you’re comfortable and achieving that perfect shot
- If you have a professional hair and/or make-up stylist on the day, make sure to have a clean face and washed hair. If you are doing your own styling, bring some makeup and a brush for any touch-ups you might need.
- Don’t forget your awesome outfit choices (the more the merrier) and try to ensure they are clean and creaseless. Don’t worry if there are a few wrinkles, we will hang and steam your garments while you get your makeup and hair done. Any other imperfections can be edited post-shoot.
- Have a playlist of your favourite music on hand so we can create the perfect vibe to get you relaxed and ready to shine.
I’ve had my shoot, now what?
Great! You’re done. Sit back and relax. Within 48 hours you will receive a link to a private portfolio of unedited images from the shoot. Take a look through and select photos to add to your favourites list. You can also add any comments/notes for each photo and once you have a final list, I will get stuck into the editing process. This may take 1-2 weeks depending on volume. If you have an urgent requirement for one or two images, I can process them as a priority. You will then receive a link to a downloadable portfolio of your high quality, picture-perfect images. If you require any more editing or cropped variations at this point, just let me know and I can get these sorted.
Can I download and keep unedited photos?
The editing and colour grading of your photos is what makes them really pop. The unedited originals (raw files) are unfinished projects to me and so I do not offer them as downloadable images. I promise once you’ve seen your on-point final images, you won’t even be thinking about the raws.
Do you offer prints?
My packages include both high and low-resolution JPEG files. If you would like some assistance with printing your favourite images, I would be happy to organise a quote for professional prints. I have used fantastic companies in the past and I can arrange to have your images delivered to you.
What are your payment terms?
After our initial consultation I will send through a quote. I require a non-refundable 10% deposit once a quote is accepted in order to secure the booking. After our shoot I will send an invoice for the remainder. Payment is due 30 days from delivery of final images. I do offer refunds or reshoots in the unlikely event you are unsatisfied with the results.
Do you offer payment plans?
Sometimes you need a bit of flexibility. After the 10% deposit is paid, I can offer payment plans consisting of monthly/fortnightly instalments at 30% of the total invoice amount.
